When I first started working in content marketing, I was thrust into a position without any formal training. I had no idea what I was doing and wasted a lot of time, and company resources, learning what needed to get done. I furiously read blogs, books, and signed up for every online course I could find. Somewhere in the midst of this hustle, I found out that I LOVED building communities on social media. And I was making a real difference online for my company. All my strenuous blog reading and experimentation had paid off, and I was now seeing the results of everything I had learned. There’s nothing like the feeling of watching your engagement boost or talking to leads off of social media. I’ve helped social enterprises, charities, and businesses sharing good stuff with the world grow their online communities.
I’ve dealt with the overwhelm and come out on the other side. I use techniques that I know work from experience, not just in theory. I’ve already put in the time to learn what works and what doesn’t, so you don’t have to.

And I’m a listening pro. I’ve known this ever since I was in middle school when none of the boys in my class wanted to date me, but they DID want to talk to me about all the other girls in the class who they had unrequited crushes on. I’ve only gotten better at listening and have honed my listening skills to create the killer content that your community is asking for.
I first fell in love with words from re-reading Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and any Dickens novel I could get my hands on. My love of reading the classics (ahem..) led to a Bachelors degree in Classics and Psychology. This helped me understand the motivations behind all the insane things the characters in classical mythology do.
Bottom line: I understand motivation, and I understand story.
I spend a lot of time traveling, and a few years ago quit my job to travel the world solo. I’ve hiked across Spain, volunteered with nonprofits in India, watched the premiere of the Hobbit in New Zealand, and eaten ALL OF THE FOOD across Asia. I was welcomed into so many different communities around the world with warmth and kindness. It was this that made me realise I wanted to work exclusively with businesses who had a mission I could get behind. Causes like equal access to healthcare, education, literacy, human rights, and gender equality.
I know that the online world can be daunting. I know social enterprises often have limited budgets and are hesitant to take on more overhead costs. I wanted to start helping these organisations build a community on social media that feels right to them.
I combine creativity and kindness in my approach to helping organisations thrive on social media. I nerd out on words that are going to change the world.
